My name is Sally, I am a mother of three children, they are ages 7, 5, 2. The way we started was unexpected...
We started raising rabbits because one day my dad came back from work with hamsters (which I also had when I was 12), his co-worker was giving them away so he took 2 back. At the time my older two were 3 & 1 years old. They liked them, thought that they were cute. But one day, after my kids had ate their snack, without cleaning, they put their hands up against the cage to touch them, suddenly the hamsters bite their finger! The bite was soo hard the kids bled. This event got me thinking, maybe hamsters is not a safe pet for young children! But what kind of pet doesn't require too much work, that is nice, and don't bite out of random? In my research I came across rabbits, I wanted my kids to learn to be caring for small animals from a young age, so my searching in adopting bunnies began. I looked into around on google and got in touch with Joseph from Sea2Sky Rabbitry is super helpful which he answered all my questions/concerns from the time of choosing to adoption. A year later we got in touch with Sylvia from Fuzzy Peach Rabbitry, which opened up a whole new world to rabbits and breeding.
We started with 1 pair of Netherland dwarfs in the beginning of 2017 from Joseph, after the first sington born to our Netherland doe, we fell in love with baby rabbits. Our family would spent time with each and every bunny, it's a joyful time for the whole family! Soon enough, we also got into the Holland lops which were from Sylvia. After knowing how easy and great of personalities rabbits can have, we have decided to breed them which allows us the opportunity to share such wonderful animals with you!
We are a small scale rabbitry, we handle our rabbits daily to train them to be fine with being handled patted and some even cuddled. But we have find that rabbits really don't like to be held, all we can do is train them to be tolerable of being held! The goal of our rabbitry is to have calm, friendly, great personality rabbits. We are following the standard of Perfection for each breed, following the ARBA standards, therefore, whatever is less would be consider as pet quality. However, our pet quality rabbits doesn't mean they will all be cheaper in price as they are all part of the our family and we like to make sure they go to good homes.
Please feel free to look around the website, and message us when you are ready for a friendly, cuddly bun ;)
